Rep. Brett Hulsey to Gov. Walker: Your New Ad is Based on Broken Promises,
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Politifact Wisconsin

Madison—Rep. Brett Hulsey today pointed out that Gov. Scott Walker's campaign new TV ad is based on broken promises, according to Politifact Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“The governor says he fixed the $3.6 billion deficit without raising taxes, which the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says is not true and were broken promises, Hulsey said. “Walker both raised taxes and made our deficit worse.”

“The chart in the Walker administration’s  Budget in Brief shows that the 2011-13 budget was not close to balanced by that standard. In fact, the document shows that based on GAAP accounting, the state would have been left with a deficit of $3 billion by 2012-13 under Walker's budget. That compares to the $2.9 billion GAAP deficit he inherited at the end of Doyle's term, the state's financial statements show.” (Emphasis added.)

The Journal Sentinel and Politifact Wisconsin also said Walker broke his promise not to raise taxes. His own budget proposes some increases, according to nonpartisan fiscal bureau.”
