Rep. Brett Hulsey: Walker Recall Cuts Our Losses

Governor Walker Gave Away $1.3 Billion Costing 144 Times More than Recall Costs

Madison, Jan 9, 2012—Rep. Brett Hulsey made this statement on the estimated costs of Governor Walker’s recall:

“Businesspeople know sometimes you have to cut your losses with an employee who is costing you money. Thus far, Governor Walker has cost Wisconsin taxpayers $1.3 billion by giving job training, healthcare, Internet, freight and train construction money to other states or back to the federal government, according to a report by the Wisconsin Budget Project.[1]

Governor Walker’s actions have cost Wisconsinites thousands of jobs and much needed services. In a little over one year, Governor Walker has cost us 144 times more than the cost of the recall. It is time to cut our losses and recall Governor Walker to prevent future costs to Wisconsin citizens.”

Rep. Brett Hulsey runs an award-winning small business and is a member of the Assembly Energy, Natural Resources and Tourism Committees.
